Important Information Regarding PayPal Payments:

We want you to enjoy every aspect of your visit to The Lantern Theatre, so we'll do our very best to always sort out any little gremlins that may appear as promptly as possible.

Booking Fees

Unlike many other theatres, The Lantern Theatre does not charge currently charge an online booking fee.

If I pay by credit or debit card will you have access to my bank account details?

No, absolutely not.  We use the PayPal system which guarantees to be secure.  It runs from a secure server (which you can tell by the https:/ in the PayPal webaddress we use).  PayPal will never transmit to the theatre any of your financial information.  We simply get a credit to our PayPal account when your payment clears.  No theatre member will ever ask for any of your financial details so you should not volunteer any either verbally or by email (unless paying by credit or debit card over the telephone at our Box Office).

Unless you are paying by credit or debit card by telephone to our Box Office then you should never give any member of the theatre your credit or debit card details, bank account details or passwords via email or on the telephone. None of the theatre members will ask for these details and you should refuse any requests to do so.

What do you do with my personal information I enter on the website?

We store your name, address and contact details which we need in order to confirm your tickets at the theatre, to pass onto PayPal as required, or to contact you if we need to.  We will never pass these details on to any third party.  We are registered with the Data Protection Registrar and we take precautions to keep this data secure and backed up.

My notification email has not been received

Upon completing your PayPal payment you should receive an E-Ticket. If you do not receive one within an hour or so please notify the theatre on info@lanterntheatre.org.uk. Your seats will have been booked but there may have been a delay on our servers. We will look into this for you.

Arriving late for a performance?

If you think you may be late for a performance please try to contact the theatre on 0114 255 1776 and inform them of an approximate time of arrival. You may be asked to wait until the interval or for a suitable time to gain entry to the seating area. Please note that if you have not arrived at the theatre by 7:25pm then we reserve the right to re-sell your tickets to the standby list.

Refunds

Please note that, unless a show is cancelled, tickets are not refundable. Any refunds or transfer of tickets to another night or show are entirely at the theatre's discretion on an individual basis. The theatre will always try to accomodate requests for seat transfer or show transfers at no additional cost.

Who do I complain to?

We really do want you to have an enjoyable evening at our theatre. However, in the event of a problem via payment or booking over the internet please speak to our website administrator. It is usually best done via email at info@lanterntheatre.org.uk. For other problems please speak to the Theatre Manager on the night of the show or on 0114 255 1776.

Please remember, all the staff at the theatre are unpaid volunteers and give their time freely in order to continue the tradition of the Dilys Guite Players and to continue the maintenance of The Lantern Theatre, a Grade II listed building. We ask you to refrain from aggressive behaviour should you encounter a problem.

Who runs the website?

The Lantern Theatre’s website and online booking is run by one of our members.  We keep a careful eye on it and will always endevour to sort out any problems as quickly as possible.  If you have any issues you wish to discuss please contact our webmaster at info@lanterntheatre.org.uk
